Dharmapuri district, which came into existence from 02.10.1965 is situated in the north western corner of tamil nadu and is bounded by tiruvannamalai and villupuram districts on the east, salem district. Dharmapuri district was bifurcated from the erstwhile salem district and dharmapuri district came into existence from 2nd october, 1965, consisting of hosur, krishnagiri, dharmapuri and harur taluks. Sep 2, 2004the dharmapuri district was formed as a separate district on 02/10/1965 with its headquarters at dharmapuri.
